Sherry-Lynne Rogers
Showing at Emmanuel Heritage Centre, Portland, ON
- Studio B2 -
Born in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Sherry moved to Montreal, Quebec, in 1959.
A long time resident of Montreal, she became interested in art as a hobby in the early 1990s. Since retiring and moving to her cottage on Bass Lake she has received a Certificate of Fine Arts from St. Lawrence College. She took up pottery in 2001 and found a love of the hands-on treatment of pottery and the thrill of anticipation each time she opens a kiln. Her pottery reflects the practical side of her personality while the glazing and decorating fulfils the artistic side.
While she does not consider talent her long suit, painting and pottery have made her look at this world differently and appreciate the ordinary as extraordinary.
